Gertrude Music Privacy Policy

Gertrude Music is a music app managed by parents or guardians, who curate the set of songs and albums a child is allowed to play. We collect as little information as possible, and we do not collect email addresses, contact information, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers.

Connecting to a Gertrude Account

To use Gertrude Music, a parent or guardian links the device to their Gertrude account. The app shows a one-time code that the parent enters from the Gertrude dashboard to claim the device. Once linked, the app stores a connection token and the child profile details the parent created (such as the child's display name) so it can load the approved music and personalize the app. This information is kept locally on the device in the system keychain.

Information the App Sends to Gertrude

The app sends a small amount of app and device data so it can check its status, keep the approved library up to date, and fix bugs. This can include:

• Basic app and device details, such as app version, iOS version, device model, and an iOS-provided identifier for Gertrude apps.
• The connection token described above, used to request the approved music library for the linked child.

We use this information only to operate and improve Gertrude Music. It is not used for advertising.

Apple Music

Gertrude Music plays approved songs through Apple Music using Apple's MusicKit. Playback requires permission to use Apple Music and an active Apple Music subscription on the device. When songs are played, Apple handles the streaming and may receive ordinary information in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. Gertrude Music only requests the songs a parent has approved.

Subscriptions

Access to Gertrude Music is tied to a Gertrude subscription managed through the parent's Gertrude account. The app records limited status details so it can tell whether access is active.

No Selling or Marketing Sharing

We never sell Gertrude Music data. We do not provide it to third-party services, customers, advertisers, or marketing platforms.
