iOS: How to Get a Connection Code

If the Gertrude iOS (iPhone or iPad) app is asking you for a 6-digit connection code, here's where to get one.

Step 1: Log in (or sign up)

Start by going to https://parents.gertrude.app on any computer or device and log in to your Gertrude parent account. If you don't have one yet, creating an account is free, and the basic blocking functionality of the iOS app does not require any payment, as long as the iPhone/iPad user is under 18.

Step 2: Get to your child's page

Once you're logged in, navigate to the child whose device you're setting up. If you haven't added a child yet, you'll need to do that first by going to Children -> Add New.

Step 3: Connect a device

From your child's page, choose the option to connect an iPhone or iPad. You'll see a 6-digit code — type that into the app on the phone.

That's it. Once you enter the code, the device will be linked to your child's Gertrude account.
